We proudly represent a select group of publishers and distributors.
Our account base includes independent and chain bookstores, college stores (independent and chain), museum stores, trade wholesalers, library jobbers and re-binders, and ID wholesalers.
The states we cover are Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Ohio, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wisconsin.
EMERITUS SALES REPS:
ROY SCHONFELD – Roy worked with the group from its founding in 1992. In 2008, Roy was honored as the Publishers’ Weekly Rep of the Year. He retired from active duty as a traveling book rep at the end of 2017.
STEVE HORWITZ – Steve worked with the group until he retired in 2013. You can find him giving Consortium’s publishers’ books better placement in bookstores all around the Twin Cities.
STU ABRAHAM - FOUNDER
Stu has been in the publishing business for 30+ years. He founded Abraham Associates in 1992 after working as an independent rep in Chicago. He works in our main office in Minneapolis.
JOHN MESJAK - PRINCIPAL
John joined the group in 2007 after working at Publishers Group West, Chronicle Books, and as a bookseller at Anderson‘s Bookshops, Book Passage, and A Clean Well-Lighted Place for Books. John lives in Minneapolis and covers the middle part of our territory. In 2018, John was named Publishers Weekly‘s Sales Rep of the Year. In 2021, John became the group principal. EMILY JOHNSON - SALES REP
Emily joined Abraham Associates in 2013. Through 2014, Emily worked at Magers & Quinn Booksellers, and has been a bookseller at various other stores for the last 10 years. She covers the western part of our territory, from St Paul MN. In 2019, Emily joined the board of MIBA. Find Emily on Instagram at @emilybooklady.
SANDRA LAW - SALES REP
Sandra joined Abraham Associates at the end of 2017, after years working for Anderson's Bookshops where she managed the La Grange IL store, Mitchell Books in Ft Wayne IN, and her early bookselling days at Barnes & Noble. Sandra covers the eastern part of our territory from the Chicago area. In 2019, Sandra was selected by New City magazine as a member of their annual “LIT 50: Who Really Books in Chicago.” Find Sandra on Instagram at @polkafan.
ALICE MESJAK VINSON - SALES REP
Alice joined Abraham Associates in 2022, after working for Bookends & Beginnings in Evanston IL. Alice covers our entire territory, and specializes in working with new store openings, and other accounts. Alice is on Instagram at @alicemesjak.
TED SEYKORA - OFFICE MANAGER
